Markus, Francis (Frank) Eugene Age 78, passed away on January 12, 2012 at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. Frank was a 1951 Fenger High School graduate and an Army veteran. He retired from Acme Steel in Riverdale after 35 years of service. Frank is survived by his wife, Janet Whitson Markus, two sons, Dale (Diana Demaree) and Blair (Dawn), step sons Seth (Jennifer) Whitson, Adam Whitson, Matthew Whitson and William Whitson, a step daughter, Kristy Whitson, a granddaughter, Tegan, four step grandchildren, Aaron Whitson, Sara Whitson, Gloria Whitson and Crystal Whitson, and one brother, Ralph (Marianne). Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis W. and Naomi Ruth Markus. Visitation will be held at Grace United Protestant Church at 266 Somonauk, Park Forest on Friday, January 20, 2012, from 5-8 PM followed by a funeral service beginning at 8 PM. Donations may be made in Frank's name to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
