Stenning, Lucille E. (Koenig) Passed away January 31, 2012. Lucille was born in Crete, Illinois on February 23, 1925, to Julius and Alma (Schweer) Koenig. Lucille attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School, Crete Community High School and Governors State University. She married her childhood sweetheart, Travis M. Stenning on April 14, 1945 and they shared 66 happy years together. She was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Alma Koenig and her infant brother Everett. Lucille is survived by her dear husband Travis, her three loving children Diane (Rick) Johnson, Dona (Tim) Hlavacek, and Dale (Rita) Stenning. She is survived by her five grandchildren, Chris (Jill) Johnson, Alyssa (Jay) Dalby, Ryan Hlavacek, Corey Hlavacek, Becky Stenning, and 6 great-grandchildren. Her relationship with the Lord and her family were first and foremost in her life. Lucille was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crete and actively involved there throughout her life. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Skinger & Skinger Certified Public Accountants for 15 years and also worked at the Crete Village Office for nearly 10 years. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2012, from 9-11AM followed by a church service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crete, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Lucille's name to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crete, Illinois.
