Wilbur W. Zum Mallen, 91, September 8, 2010, resident of Crete, IL. Beloved husband of the late Leorpha (Love) Zum Mallen; loving father of Cathie Dettwiler of Montgomery, AL and Cindy (Paul) Bradley of Momence, IL; cherished grandfather of Scott and Blake Dettwiler of Atlanta, GA and Erika and Megan Bradley of Chicago, IL.; preceded in death by his brother Frank Zum Mallen of CA. Mr. Zum Mallen retired from Certain-Teed Products after over 30 years of service. He was born May 1, 1919 in Chicago Heights, the son of Frank and Anna Zum Mallen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a builder and inventor. Funeral Service Monday, 10 a.m. at Hirsch Funeral Home, Spindler-Koelling Directors, 507 Exchange St., Crete, IL.
