James M. Bailey, 66, of Olympia Fields passed away on February 12, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Christine, nee Norris; three children: Lisa (Jerald) Johnson, Brian (Jamey), and Kevin (Laura) ; seven grandchildren: Mackenzie, Eliza, Karenna, Morgan, Taylor, Ella and Nathan. Jim was born in Detroit and graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served with the U.S. Army 4th Infantry and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Jim was a passionate Michigan fan, loved coaching and supporting his children and grandchildren in their many activities,and was blessed to spend his four years of retirement traveling the world with his best friend, his beautiful wife of 42 years. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his devotion to his family, and his selflessness.The family will greet guests on Thursday, February 17 from 3:00 until 8:00PM at Hirsch Funeral Home in Matteson. A Mass of Remembrance will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. Lawrence OToole Catholic Church in Matteson. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society/Pancreatic Cancer Research are appreciated.
