Madelyn E. Karn, nee DeBernardi, 94, passed away April 26, 2008. Long time resident of Crete for over 78 years. Beloved wife and devoted companion of the late Curtis Karn for over 69 years. Loving mother of Karen (Bill) Wiater of Crete, and the late Patricia Phipps. Cherished grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 25 and great-great grandmother of 5. Madelyn was preceded in death by one grandson and 13 brothers and sisters. She was a proud member of the Steger Over 50 Club and Moose Lodge #828. Madelyn enjoyed life as an embroiderer, avid reader, and devoted grandmother.Resting at Hirsch Funeral Home, Spindler-Koelling Directors, 507 W.
