Beloved and caring husband of 51 years to Charlotte Stricker, nee Sandvois; loving father of Lynne (Daryl) LoSchiavo and Jean (Tod) Jacobson; cherished grandfather of James, David, Jaron and Austin; fond stepbrother of Walter (Virginia) Meisner and Katherine (late Ted) Meisner. Retired teacher of Tinley Park High School for 36 years. Mark was a loyal and dedicated servant to the Village of Matteson, a President who truly loved and enjoyed his village and the people he served as President for over 25 years as well as a volunteer of the Matteson Fire Department. Member of South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, where he served as Past-President, Executive Board Member and Transportation Committee Chair. Advisory Board Member of Matteson Area Chamber of Commerce. Board Member of Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau. Member of Greater Chicago Council of Governments, and one of 17 mayors in Illinois elected to serve on the Board of the Illinois Tax Increment Finance Committee. Past President of the Board of Elementary School District #159. Member of Crete Lodge #763, A.F. & A.M. Past Worthy Grand Patron , and Illinois Board of Governors Member of Order of the Eastern Star.
