Phillips James Weidman, (Phil), age 73, passed away at Illinois Veterans Home, Manteno, after a long battle with Alzheimers on June 9th. Born in Wheeling, WV, Phil had been a long time Park Forest resident. Beloved husband of (Mary) Jane Weidman (nee Ebbert); loving father of Charles (Denise) Weidman of Westfield, NJ, Michael (Cheryl) Weidman of Indianapolis, IN, Timothy (Betsy Kalmar) Weidman of Oak Park, IL, Susan Weidman of Oak Forest, IL, and Judith (Carl) Thorne of Bolingbrook, IL. Cherished grandfather of Jacqueline, Caroline, Jennifer, Mariel, Samantha, Kristin, Michelle, and Allison. Dear brother of Alvin (Josephine), Patricia Miller (William), Janet Weidman and brother-in law Robert. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary, and sister Mary Margaret Altman. Phil graduated from University of Detroit. He was Director of International Sales and Marketing with Elastimold when Alzheimers began to take its toll. Phil was Republican precinct captain, grateful member of AA for 25 years, lifetime member of Park Forest Jaycees, National Director and JCI Senator, and President of St.Vincent de Paul at St. Lawrence OToole, where he was a long time member. Phil was an Army Veteran. Resting at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematory, 50 Westwood Dr., just west of Western on Norwood, Park Forest, IL, where friends may call on Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Friday, June 13, 2008, 9:15 at chapel, to St. Lawrence OToole Church, 214th and Governors Hwy., Matteson, IL.
