Alex Ohiomoba Imoukhuede, (75), of Sabongida Ora, Nigeria, passed away on April 25th, 2024.
Alex, fondly known as Uncle Alex, was born to Emmanuel Ayodele Imoukhuede and Elizabeth Imoukhuede, on March 6th, 1949, in the city of Minna, Nigeria. The fifth of nine children, two preceded him in death. Alex was educated at St. Judes Anglican Primary school in Lagos, Ibadan Grammar School in Ibadan, Nigeria for Secondary school, and Roosevelt University as well as Controlled Data Institute in Chicago. Alex married Betty in 1980 and one child was born from the union. A big-hearted free thinker who truly lived life to the fullest and saw the best in everything and everyone. Alex had an uncanny ability to reach people in a positive way, armed with a smile that always lit up the room, a favorite amongst the extended family, overwhelmingly loved by nieces, nephews, and cousins. He maintained strong friendships dating back to elementary school. Alex loved jazz music with his favorite 90.9fm radio [Chicagos Home for Jazz] which he listened to all the time. He also loved traveling, making jokes, and a healthy debate. Alex is survived by his wife Betty, son Imoimion, and granddaughter Alana. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Margaret Imoukhuede, Fortuna Bucknor, Daro Imoukhuede, Edward Imoukhuede, Emmanuel Ayo Imoukhuede, and Felix Imoukhuede. Alex was predeceased by his parents, Emmanuel & Elizabeth Imoukhuede, and his sisters Cecy Olajumoke & Izeh Iroko. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Establishment, (50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, IL 60466) on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 from 1pm-3pm. --
