A Life Beautifully Lived: Andrew "Andy" Tucker(February 21, 1935 – April 15, 2026) Known for his impeccable style, generous heart, and steadfast commitment to his loved ones, Andrew "Andy" Tucker transitioned to his heavenly home on April 15, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Wadley, Alabama, on February 21, 1935, Andy grew up in Roanoke, Alabama, under the loving guidance of his mother, Margaret Tucker, and his grandfather, Samuel David Tucker. Their influence instilled in him the core values of diligence, resilience, and kindness that shaped his inspiring journey. Relocating to Chicago, Illinois, Andy built a vibrant foundation for his future. On October 18, 1959, he married Willie Muriel Esters Tucker, and together they raised two children, Reggie and Diane. Driven by a natural entrepreneurial spirit, the couple owned and operated The Captain's Table, a popular local lounge where patrons and friends gathered for countless good times. Beyond his business endeavors, Andy held a strong commitment to civic duty. He served in respected roles with the City of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department. As an active political advocate, he dedicated many hours to campaigning for Democratic candidates, always striving to make a positive impact in his community. He believed in laboring tirelessly while also enjoying the fruits of his success. A truly giving soul, Andy frequently helped friends in need and made certain his family was always provided for. He appreciated fine dining and cigars and looked forward to his vacations in Las Vegas. Even in retirement, he never lost his sense of purpose. Waking early each morning, he consistently dressed in a suit and tie with a pocket square, dress shoes, and a fedora hat, greeting the world with unmatched dignity and classic style. Though a serious man by nature, he had a sharp sense of humor and kept his family and friends laughing. During his final years, Andy was enveloped in unwavering care. His daughter, Diane, faithfully tended to his full-time needs, supported by the expertise and steadying presence of his home health aide, Ms. Tilly and his only granddaughter Porcshe and her husband Patrick. On April 15, 2026, he was welcomed into heaven, joyfully reunited with his wife, Muriel; his mother, Margaret; his grandfather, Samuel David; his brother Robert Tucker; and his close cousins, Ora Mae and Jesse Harris, who were like a sister and brother to him. He leaves behind a rich legacy of strength and impeccable style, to be forever cherished by his son, Reginald (Valencia) Tucker of Chicago, Illinois; his daughter, Diane Tucker Moran of South Holland, Illinois; and his granddaughter, Porcshe (Patrick) Murphy of California, Missouri. His dignified nature and steadfast loyalty to his loved ones will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Diane wishes to express her deepest appreciation to the villagers who have supported her and her father: Corky, Aunt Tommie, Yo-Yo, Chuck, Bob Crutch and his family, Michelle and her mom Brenda, José, Aunt Ora, Uncle James, Uncle Robert, Tyrone, Tina, Waterman Drive neighbors, Aunt Dolly, all of Andy's doctors, nurses, specialists, and CNAs, Pam, Lisa, Renee W., Renee D., Toni, Joey, Mr. Moran, Linda, Mike (Andy's barber), DJ, Jackie, Stacy, Sheldon and Porcshe and Patrick.
