Arthur H. Kregel, 94, died peacefully at home on August 10, 2009. Longtime resident of Crete, IL for 65 yrs. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Kregel, nee Nacke; loving father of Rita (Wesley) Clark of Crete, IL and Shirley (late Steven) Piazza of Steger, IL; cherished grandfather of Jeff (Kelly) Clark, Nancy (Jim) Barkhurst, Nicole (Michael) Potempa and James Piazza, and great-grandfather of 4. Art worked at Midwest Forging in Chicago Heights for 20 years, and was an owner of Arts Texaco Gas Station in Crete for 24 years. He was also a member of Zion Evangelistic Lutheran Church in Crete, IL. Resting at Hirsch Funeral Home, Spindler-Koelling Directors, 507 W. Exchange St., at Main Street (Rt. 1), Crete, IL, where friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. Lying In State Friday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1610 Main St., Crete, IL., from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev.
