Mother Cleo, Mae Hendricks was born in Columbus, Mississippi, August 3, 1928 to Early Andrew Jackson and Lucille Thomas
Mother Dumas went as far as the sixth grade in school got married to Hursey Dumas at age 17 had her first child Charlene while she was still in Mississippi
Mother Dumas moved to Chicago Heights, Illinois with her first born Charlene to be with her husband who had already gone to Chicago Heights, Illinois the same year of 1948
Mother Dumas lived as a housewife. She had four more girls and three boys with her husband after he passed Mother Cleo had three more children by Willie Foy.
In the 70s Mother Dumas joined the Frist St. Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. Rice who was the Reverend at that time.Since then, Mother Dumas has been a very faithful member in the church. Mama was in the senior choir, cooking in the kitchen, feeding homeless people sometimes visiting someone that was a member in the hospital.Mother Dumas also helped Sister Brand and her boutique with clothes and shoes everyone loved her, mostly her cooking friendliness and laughter. Ushering was her last job. She did in St. Bethel Church in 2019.During the time, Mother Dumas was doing work in the church. She also worked in a nursing home (Riverera Manor) in the kitchen for about two years.Now Mother Dumas's journey here on earth has ended. The angels have come to take Mother Dumas home to be with all of her family members. Mother Dumas was the last one out of 12 children.Also, heaven bound will be mother Dumas's five adult children, Susie and Debra (Dee Dee) Calvin, Randolph, and Rosie. Also one newborn great grandson.
