Obituary

Corinne J. Griffith, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at Generations of Applewood Nursing Home. Born on October 15, 1942, in Chicago, Corinne was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Helen Adesko.

Corinne's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and resilience. She devoted over 40 years of her life to working as a waitress in various restaurants throughout the south suburbs, earning a reputation for her unwavering work ethic and exceptional service. Her customers often left with more than a meal—they took away the warmth of her smile and the sincerity of her care.

Family was the heart of Corinne's world. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Michele Morrow Pittenger, and her daughter Christine (Tim) Sulda. She is survived by her loving children, James (Chloe) and John (Maggie) Griffith, her brother James Adesko, and a legacy of grandchildren: Anthony (Jordan), Patrick (Ashley), and Kevin (Caroline) Griffith, Ashley (Richard) Pierce, Riley, Holly, and Ellie Griffith, and Kaylee, Mallory, and Amy Sulda. Her life was further enriched by the joy of her great-grandchildren, Killian Griffith and Lucy Pierce, and her nieces Angela Morrow and Alissa Pittenger.

Corinne's passions were as vibrant as her personality. An avid fan of the Chicago Bears, she was often seen wearing her favorite Devin Hester jersey, cheering on her team with zeal. She found solace and joy in reading, watching movies, and solving word puzzles, often sharing these moments with her beloved family.

Her home was a haven of laughter, love, and support. Corinne was the embodiment of a devoted family matriarch, always present for birthdays, holidays, and whenever her family needed her listening ear. Her giving nature and warm smile left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Generations of Applewood Nursing Home and Vitas Hospice Care, whose compassionate care truly made a difference in Corinne's final days. In honor of Corinne’s legacy, her family has chosen to hold a private funeral ceremony. Those wishing to honor her memory may consider making a donation to a charity of their choice. Corinne's gentle spirit and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will inspire generations to come.
