Obituary

In loving memory of Dwight Jerome Leonard, born July 22, 1959 in Chicago, IL. He was born to mom Gwendolyn Fitch and dad Jesse John Leonard and is survived by his daughters Lashunda Stanford, Danartra Leonard, Sparkle Boea; his grandchildren Mila Boea, and Blaise Boea; his brothers Greg Lowe, Donnell, his sister Valerie Williams and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dearly loved family members. He was enrolled in the United States Marine Corps in October of 1977 and was honorably discharged in October of 1980. He was a security guard with a long history of working in machinery operations. At the young age of 62, he died on April 24, 2022 in his sleep. He was a diligent, hard-working and persevering man who loved deeply. He was known for his discipline and his mission in life was to bring people together, always promoting unity and togetherness; he was the epitome of a people person. He was known for his ability to keep a level-head and to maintain a positive outlook in spite of obstacles and hardships and never gave up in his pursuit to become a better man as he grew older. His family and friends honor and cherish him as his spirit lives on through the many memories and glad moments that we celebrate today and onward.
