In Loving Memory of Edgar Boyd, Jr.March 28, 1965 – February 21, 2026
Edgar Boyd, Jr., aged 60, transitioned from labor to reward on February 21, 2026. A man of profound faith and intellect, Edgar lived by the promise of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
Born in Chicago , IL to Carolyne and the late Edgar Boyd, Sr., Edgar was a gifted musician and a proud "Tuba Brother" at Crete-Monee High School.
He soared professionally, earning an Aeronautics degree from St. Louis University and serving as a flight instructor before transitioning into a successful career as an IT Division Manager and, later, a lead Cardiac Telemetry Technician at Northwestern Hospital.
A pillar of Family Christian Center from November 11, 2005, Edgar's life was a testament to service. He served in the outreach ministry as a weekly caller providing information to new visitors. He was deeply involved in the Sunday Bible Study group.
Known for his "silky jokes," infectious humor, and generous spirit, he was the cherished "favorite uncle" who brought light to every room.
He is reunited in glory with his father and many loved ones. He leaves to cherish his legacy his devoted mother, Carolyne; sisters, Kimberly and Kandis; nephew, Michael; nieces and Goddaughters, Kadence and Jacqueline; and a host of Godsisters, Godbrothers, and dear friends.
