Frederick E. Blacksmith, 71, of Park Forest, passed away suddenly Sunday August 1, 2021. He was born June 5, 1950 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, son of Byron and Vera Jean (Miller) Blacksmith. Fred was a pastor for 22 years and very involved in all aspects of the Church. He enjoyed drumming, shooting hand guns, rifles and shot guns, playing and listening to music, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends and family; especially his grandchildren. Fred is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol, 2 sons, Stephen (Laura) and Ian. 5 grandchildren; Benjamin, William, Abby, Sam and Caleb. A memorial service for Fred will take place Fri August 13, 2021 at 7:30 at The Holiday Inn, Salon A, 500 Holiday Inn Plaza Dr. in Matteson. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday August 14, 2021 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Smokey Jo's, 475 W.
