Harold (Bob) Packer, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his daughter, Patti A. Packer and son, Paul (Russell) Packer; brother, Paul Emerson (Marcia) Packer and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob loved the outdoors and would be sure to head south to Florida during the winter months in order to continue enjoying his outdoor activities. Bob was a past president of the Operating Engineers Square Club and a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 150. He retired from the Cook County Highway Department and was also a free mason. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 3pm - 8pm with a memorial service beginning at 6:30pm at Hirsch West End Funeral Home (3501 W. Lincoln Highway, Matteson, IL 60443). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Advocate Hospice.
