Helen Louise Hillger- 89 yrs., passed away June 25, 2013 at her home in Matteson, Illinois. Helen was born at home in Matteson on August 31, 1923 to Phillip and Hulda Hillger. Helen graduated from Zion Lutheran School and Thornton High School. Her career was spent working at American Steel Foundries, subsidiary of Amsted Rail, in Chicago. Helen lived in her family home in Matteson her entire life for over 89 years. Helen had been an active member of Zion Lutheran Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, financial secretary and a member of the Social Ministry Board. She was also on the board of the Matteson Historical Society where she was a life member. Helen is survived by her sister Marion Hillger of Matteson. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Phillip Hillger and Hulda Hecht Hillger, and her brother, Richard Hillger.
