Iris Reed, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 at Olympia Fields Hospital. She was born March 20, 1933 in DeKalb, IN to Charles and Elsie Shipe. She married Ray Reed in 1968 and had previously been married to Charlie Berry. Mrs. Reed worked for the State of Illinois at the Manteno State Hospital until 1985 and retired from the Tinley Park Mental Facility in 2007. She loved animals, especially her dogs, King, Duchess and Taj. She was a longtime donor to St. Judes Childrens Hospital and to the Humane Society. Surviving are two sons, Rocky Berry and Robin Berry (Michelle), all of Bradley; one daughter, Candy; grandchildren, Tony Berry, Scott Benjamin (Christine), Brent Berry (Dee Dee), Tonia Knowlton, Karissa Garloch, Lacey Sanders (James), Klayton Berry, Tyler Berry, Robin Berry, Jr. and Jennifer Smith; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; one son, Jeff Berry; daughter-in-law, Joyce Berry; her parents; sisters, Dixie, Virginia, Charlotte, Georgia and Violet; and one brother, Vern.
