Irma Batterman, 89 of Crete passed away on Friday morning, June 7, 2013 at St. James Manor. She was born on June 13, 1923 a daughter to the late Anna Siebert. Irma was the past secretary and treasurer of the Crete Library, past president of Crete Amvets Auxiliary, a member of the Ladies Aid of Zion Lutheran Church and a board member of the Crete Park District. Her family members include three children: James (Sharon) Batterman, Roger (Ramona) Batterman and Joyce Hook; seven grandchildren: Dr. Craig (Dr. Tanya Desanto) Batterman, Brian Johnson, Kristin (Glenn) Keller, Stephen Batterman, Scott Johnson, Brad Johnson and Ian Hook; and her great-grandchildren: Emma, Grace, Samuel, Laura and Jack and her step-granddaughter; Hope Anderson and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Vernon Batterman and her daughter: Diana. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Hirsch Crete Chapel, 507 W. Exchange St., Crete. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Crete. The family will greet guests on Tuesday from 11:00AM until the time of services at Hirsch Crete Chapel.
