In Loving Memory of James Clyde Williams, Jr.
July 7, 1965 – October 12, 2026
Celebrating a Life of Love, Kindness, Generosity, and Family
James Clyde Williams, Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 7, 1965, and departed this life on October 12, 2026, at the age of 61. James was raised in Chicago Heights, IL by his parents, Cornelia and James Clyde Williams, Sr. (preceded in death). James graduated from Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights in 1983 and then attended Control Data Institute of Technology where he received a Certificate in Computer Science.
James was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched countless lives. He was the kind of person who could always be counted on, whether someone needed a helping hand, a listening ear, or assistance solving a computer problem. His kindness was genuine, his generosity came naturally, and his love for those closest to him was evident in both his words and actions.
Family was at the center of James's life. He shared an especially close and loving bond with his mother, Cornelia, a relationship built on deep affection, mutual devotion, and an enduring connection. Their special mother-and-son bond was a treasured part of his life. James also cherished his relationships with his sisters and extended family, and he particularly enjoyed opportunities for everyone to come together, share laughter, and create lasting memories.
James was a deeply spiritual man. He attended Living Word Christian Center for many years while living in Chicago. Once he relocated to Dallas, he attended St. John Church Unleashed, Grand Prairie, Texas.
One of James's greatest joys was being an uncle. He took tremendous pride in his nieces and nephews and enthusiastically celebrated their accomplishments, both large and small. Whether cheering them on in baseball, football, lacrosse, gymnastics, dance, teaching them all computer skills at a young age, or recognizing their academic achievements, James was always among their most devoted supporters. He made each of them feel special, valued, and loved. His genuine interest in their lives and his unwavering encouragement made him not only a wonderful uncle but also a cherished presence in their lives.
James had a lifelong enthusiasm for sports, particularly his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. A loyal and passionate fan, he spent years trying to convince his family that Pittsburgh would make the perfect vacation destination—provided, of course, that the trip took place during football season!
Beyond football, James was an avid tennis enthusiast who enjoyed both playing the game and watching the world's best players compete. For many years, attending the U.S. Open was a favorite tradition, allowing him to experience firsthand the excitement of a sport he truly loved.
Twenty-one years ago, James relocated from Chicago to Dallas, Texas, to continue pursuing his career in information technology. Gifted with computers and possessing a natural ability to understand complex technical systems, he built a successful career in the IT field. Most recently, he worked at Health Markets as a Senior Storage Engineer, a position that reflected his technical expertise and professional dedication.
In 2018, James was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease, beginning a difficult health journey that would test his strength and perseverance. He began dialysis in 2019 and continued treatment while awaiting a kidney transplant. Throughout the challenges of his illness, James remained deeply loved and supported by his family.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted mother, Cornelia Brigmon (Omar); his loving sisters, Marion Shuck, Miriam Moore (Reggie), and Felicia Boykin; his nephews, George Boykin III, Miles Boykin, and Cameron Moore; his nieces, Malaika Shuck and Camille Moore; and his uncles, Reggie Williams (Edna) and Arbery Martin (Tina). He also leaves behind a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Clyde Williams, Sr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his sister, Meredith Williams, and his beloved brother-in-law, Reggie Shuck.
His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the nieces and nephews he encouraged, the friendships he nurtured, and the many lives he touched with his generosity and compassion.
While his family and friends will miss his presence, his laughter, his helpful spirit, and his unwavering loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers, they will forever treasure the love he gave and the memories they shared.
James, your kindness was a gift, your love was a blessing, and your memory will remain forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace, James. You were deeply loved, and you will be profoundly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to 'Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donation Network' in James’ memory.
