Jane Maurice Bohlin, 84, of Park Forest, passed away on October 14, 2024, in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home in Park Forest on October 23, 2024. Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm, Service from 6pm to 7pm officiated by Pastor Dennis Langden. Visitation will follow from 7pm to 9pm. Final burial will take place on October 26, 2024, at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello, Iowa at 11am. Jane was born in Monticello, Iowa to James and Dorothy Maurice on March 23, 1940. She went to school at Monticello High School in 1958 and she graduated from University of Iowa. She was a very devout Christian and was very involved in her church, Olympia Fields United Methodist Church as well as supporting organizations such as Camp Courageous, Nature Conservatory, Habitat for Humanity and many animal rescue organizations. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy Maurice and her brother James Maurice. Jane is survived by her children, John (Linda) Bohlin, Christopher Bohlin, Jeremy (Eileen) Bohlin and Jennifer (Bill) Montague as well as her brothers John (Tracie) Maurice and Steve (Susan) Maurice. She was an amazing Grandmother to Jeremy and Grace Bohlin and Atalissa and Laina Montague. Jane was an amazing human, and her kindness and generosity of heart will be greatly missed. She was always quick with a smile and lending an ear to listen. Her compassionate heart was not just for humans, but especially for all her fellow furry friends. Part of her daily routine was not just to take care of her furry companions that she lived with, but every animal around. She always made sure that the birds and squirrels had their fill as well as the ducks, skunks, and groundhogs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Courageous and ASPCA in her name.
