Obituary

John J. Lulewicz, of Beecher, passed away on July 13th at home. John was born in Chicago to John and Dorothy on 11/14/1940. Was married to Barbara until her death in 1997. In 2000 he remarried to Linda. He graduated from St. Josephs College in Rensselaer Indiana. For his entire career he worked in pharmaceutical sales. He served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. John volunteered way too many hours to list however, he had a passion for animals and was a docent at Brookfield Zoo after his retirement in 1998. He continued working with animals and teaching groups about these animals for the next 20 years. He also was passionate about Veterans. Countless hours were spent volunteering at the Veterans home in Manteno where "all the ladies loved him"! John also spent several years volunteering as a speaker for the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois. John was a staunch advocate for organ donation. John is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Andrea (Karl) Scherer, daughter Maria Lulewicz, son Steve (Eileen) Lulewicz, son John (Michelle) Lulewicz, Stepson Jeff Michelle) Courtney, Stepdaughter Heather Moore. He was also the fun Grandpa to Jake, Brittany, Kyle, Anthony, Allie, Alex, Ethan, Joshua, Jesseca & Lauralyn. Johns great grandchildren include Ryan and soon to be Sophia (due September) and many nieces and nephews. Being an animal lover, John was a proud "Grandpaw" to 15, 20, 25.whatever the current number of animals was in the family, John considered those his grandpets! Being that John was such an avid Chicago sports fan, he will be dressed in casual sports attire and the family requests you do the same. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all animal lovers donate to Gray Paws Senior Haven in Gallatin TN. Please find Gray Paws donation link on their Facebook page. Visitation will be Wednesday, July17th, 5-8pm at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Directors, 50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, Illinois on Thursday, July 18th from 9am until time of services at 10am at Abundant Grace United Church of Christ, 18200 Dixie Highway, Homewood, Illinois 60430. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home.
