Judith A. Sopiarz, nee Ludwick, age 69, was called home to be with God on Sunday, November 15, 2015. A 45 year resident of Park Forest. She is survived by her husband, Richard, married for 48 years. They raised four children, Pam (George) Shawtell, Matt (Jeanne) Sopiarz, Josh (Lisa) Sopiarz and Chris Sopiarz; 13 grandchildren. A sister and aunt to her brothers and nieces and nephews. A friend to many. Judy retired after 41 years as a registered nurse. Most recently from the Park Forest Health Department. A volunteer for many organizations. She loved traveling and was always looking for an adventure. She loved her Sunday mornings after church enjoying coffee and time with her special group of ladies. She had an excitement for life. She was the one we turned to for words of wisdom. Always our biggest supporter. She had a no nonsense, positive outlook on life. Even as her illness progressed she always made sure her family and friends were doing well. Whether it was Grandparents Day, dance recitals, gymnastics or swimming, she was always the grandma the kids could count on to be there. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Irenaeus Church (78 Cherry Street, Park Forest, IL) on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 12pm with memorial visitation beginning one hour prior to service.
