Julius Frank Koperski left this earth peacefully and was reunited with his bride, on March 4, 2014 in Seattle, Washington with his daughter and son in law by his side. Born February 1, 1921 in Thorp, Wisconsin, to John and Katherine Koperski, he was the tenth child of thirteen. He moved to Chicago at the age of 16, and worked a variety of jobs. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. When he returned from service he continued his career as a machinist at Miehle Printing in Chicago, and retired from Union Tank in Indiana. He met and married the love of his life the late Dorothy Louise Coleman in 1948, and moved to Park Forest where he lived the remainder of his life. Julius was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, parents, many brothers, sisters, and friends, as well as two daughters Sandra Marie (1959) and Louise Marie (1980). He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his children Darlene (Alan) Schnittker , Federal Way, Washington, Clifford (Peggy) Koperski, Vernon Hills, IL, Gary (Carol) Koperski, New Lenox, Illinois, Karen (Steve) Breese, Plainfield, IL, and Dottie (Bill) Fitzsimmons, Park Forest, IL. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, one sister Marie Kowalczyk, Thorp, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. Julius was a member of The Purple Heart, American Legion, and Polish American Democrat Club. In recent years he could be seen at the Rich Township Senior Center enjoying lunch with friends. Julius loved family, sports, a good laugh, a cold beer and of course a cigar. Julius knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life and found the good in all he met. He was fond of saying," Dont worry stress will kill you. " Julius was a party boy and enjoyed dancing with his children and grandchildren and telling stories up until the time of his death.
