Lynette Kimberly Hoyles was born to Leonard and Jacquelyn Hoyles on May 21, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio. On June 11, 2024, the Lord welcomed Lynette to her eternal resting place, where she took her final, peaceful flight. Lynette was baptized and confessed Christ at an early age at New Faith Baptist Church in Chicago Heights, Il. under the guidance of Rev.Junius Dudley. Subsequently in her adult life, Lynette became an active member of Turner Chapel AME Church in Atlanta, GA, where she lent her melodious voice to the young adult choir. Upon relocating to Texas, Lynette joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Plano, TX. No matter where she resided, Lynette consistently embraced her faith and found a spiritual home within the local community, worshipping with dedication and zeal. Her unwavering commitment to her faith and ability to connect with and contribute to each congregation was truly inspirational. At an early age, Lynette was highly active throughout her childhood from playing softball to cooking various dishes in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother Mama Cre. She also enjoyed traveling to Cincinnati most summers to attend Vacation Bible School at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and traveling with her family on various vacations. While growing up in University Park, Lynette attended Infant Jesus of Prague in Flossmoor, Deer Creek Middle School, and Crete-Monee High School. Her passion for leadership blossomed during these formative years. Lynette was instrumental in founding the first Afro-American Club in 1983 and was actively involved in Student Government and the Jester Yearbook Club. She also served as the Coachs Assistant for the Crete-Monee Warriors' Basketball and Football teams and spent her summers excelling in softball as a centerfielder and third baseman. Lynette was a member of the Dr. Charles E. Gavin Youth Organization and the NAACP Youth Council, serving as President of both committees in 1986. By the time she graduated in June 1986, Lynette had left an indelible mark on her community through her commitment and perseverance. Lynette further developed her exemplary leadership skills at Augustana College in Rock Island, Il.,. During her time there, she flourished, becoming the dynamic Creative Director for numerous college-wide events. Lynette pledged Kappa Tau Sorority and proudly crossed over in 1988. She was also an active and dedicated member of the Black Student Union and Ladies of the Vital Essence (L.O.V.E.), a group committed to empowering young women through mentorship, academic support, and community service. It was at Augustana that Lynette cultivated a profound passion for community volunteering, which became a cornerstone of her compassionate life's work. Lynette graduated in 1990, receiving her Bachelors in Public Administration. A dedicated lifelong learner, Lynette continually invested in herself and her future. She furthered her education by attending night school at Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, where she earned a distinguished Master of Business Administration in Human Resources, in Atlanta, GA.. Lynette's pursuit of knowledge and her unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth was truly inspiring to all who knew her. Upon graduating from Augustana, Lynette harnessed her exceptional leadership skills to become the Store Manager at United Retail Group in Peoria, IL, from 1991 to 1996. During her tenure, she impressively generated over $175,000 in sales. Lynette then advanced her career by transferring her management expertise to Enterprise Car Rental in Chicago, IL, where she excelled, being rated number one in customer service and receiving multiple awards, including the prestigious President's Award in 1998. Lynette culminated her professional journey as a Chief Clerk for Norfolk Southern Corporation in Atlanta, GA. While at NSC, she made significant contributions to employee safety, overseeing the well-being of over 500 employees, and was honored with the esteemed 2003 Harriman Award for her efforts. Lynette's career was marked by her unwavering dedication, exceptional achievements, and profound impact on those she worked with. Lynette will be remembered by many for her glowing smile and joyful laughter. She delighted in enjoying a Symphony bar while watching her favorite game shows, and her home-cooked meals were cherished by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Lynette had a unique talent for creating joyous occasions, filling every gathering with warmth and happiness. Lynettes memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those who cherished her. Her life, a beautiful testament to affection and kindness, touched all who knew her. Mourning her loss are her loving and devoted parents, Leonard Hoyles (Deborah) and mother Jacquelyn Hoyles. Preceding her death are her Grandparents, Leonard K. Hoyles Sr. and Cremolia Aycox-Hoyles, Rev. Jesse R. OConner and Beaulah OConner. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Lisa Hoyles-Taylor (Walter), Courtney Hoyles-Terry, LaToyia Adebanjo (Sunday), and Regina Hoyles-Taylor (Branden). Lynettes radiant spirit will continue to shine through her nieces: Quiana and Zoe Hoyles, LaRissa Davis, and her nephews Caylan and Cameron Terry, and Zion Hoyles, her Aunts, Uncles, extended family, and a host of friends.
