Obituary

MARGARET ROSALYN BELL (nee Hack) passed away peacefully on December 5, 2014 at Prairie Manor, Chicago Heights, Illinois at the age of 82. Margaret leaves to mourn her loving husband Hans Frederick Bell, sister Elizabeth Hack, three children Hildy, Elsa (Greg), and Hans (Melissa); and grandchildren Elizabeth, Elyse, Katie, Kiara, Robert, Rhiannon, and Sarah. Margaret is predeceased by her parents Peter and Sally, and her sisters Adelaide (Verne) and Victoria (Thomas). Margaret was born in Wausau, Wisconsin and spent her childhood in Gary, Indiana; Steelton, Pennsylvania; and Chicago, Illinois. Margaret graduated from Bowen High School in Chicago and went on to college at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, where she graduated with a degree in Political Science. Margaret worked at the Chicago Tribune, Leo Burnett Advertising, and the American Medical Association. In 1964, she married Hans and together they reared their three children in Matteson, Illinois. In retirement, Margaret moved to Pinedale, Wyoming. Together Margaret and Hans travelled extensively throughout the United States, visiting numerous national parks. Margaret was active in the community, where she participated in school activities, volunteered at the local hospital, taught literacy, and participated in church activities. As the daughter of a Lutheran minister, religion was significantly important throughout her life. She was an intelligent, avid reader who shared her love of history and passion for literature, music, and animals. Margaret will always be remembered for her dedication and concern for her family and her unwavering compassion for others. The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Manor, Arden Courts, Sublette Center, and Peace Hospice for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday December 13, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Forest, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2901 Western Avenue, Park Forest, Illinois 60446 or Our Saviors Lutheran Church, P.O.
