Obituary

Obituary for Margaret Rose Talbert (née Andrade) Margaret Rose Talbert, née Andrade, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, in Lansing, Illinois, at the age of 100. Born at home in Chicago Heights, Illinois, on July 20, 1925, Margaret was the cherished daughter of Gilbert and Maria Andrade. She was educated at St. Rocco's School in Chicago Heights and later worked at the National Battery Company, where she met her future husband, John Talbert. The two were married on August 1, 1943, in Chicago, sharing a devoted union built on love and family. Fondly known as "Marge," she was a warm and vibrant presence in the lives of all who knew her. Social by nature, she delighted in gathering with family and friends, filling every room with her joyful spirit. She especially loved music and dancing, a passion she carried throughout her life—even celebrating her 100th birthday with a dance, walker in hand. Margaret is survived by her children, Michael Talbert of Schererville, Indiana; Terri D'Ascenzo (Mark) of Homer Glen, Illinois; and Linda Talbert of Crown Point, Indiana. She was the proud grandmother of Michael Talbert (Vanessa) of Crown Point, Indiana; Denise Levine (Rudy Vasquez) of Crown Point, Indiana; Christina Klancnik (Brad) of Chicago, Illinois; David Raymond of Crown Point, Indiana; and Alexis Chase (Jake) of Bee Cave, Texas. She is also lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren: Kayla, Hailey, Laney, Lila, Nate, Camille, Rudy Jr., Elijah, and Sophia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will be offered during visitation by Chaplain Erwin Bela-Chuz. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Lain-Sullivan. Interment will follow at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Margaret's memory. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Saint Anthony's of Lansing—the staff and residents alike—for their kindness and care, which brought light to Margaret's final years. Deep appreciation is also given to Dr. Gupta, neurologist at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana; Dr. Divakaroni, cardiologist in Munster, Indiana; and the dedicated team at Five Star Hospice of Hoffman Estates, especially Hospice Nurse Heather Windmon, for their compassionate support. Margaret's life was a century-long testament to love, joy, and resilience. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
