Mark Allen Gilbert, 61 years old, of Monee IL, passed away on August 18, 2023 in Harvey, IL. Visitation will be 4-7pm, Friday September 1st, 2023 at Lain Sullivan Funeral Home in Park Forest, IL On Saturday, September 2nd, there will be a graveside service for Mark Allen Gilbert at his final resting place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Westfield, IL at 1pm. Mark was born at Ingalls Hospital to Richard Gilbert and Margo Tullos on July 20th, 1962. He married Diane Celarier Gilbert on September 16th 1989 in Park Forest IL. He worked as a Firefighter for the Village of Park Forest, Nutrasweet and the Ford Stamping Plant. He was involved in the Park Forest American Legion Post ##1198. He was a past Commander of the Son of the American Legion. Mark is preceded in death by Richard Gilbert and Margo Tullos . Mark is survived by his spouse, Diane Celarier Gilbert, daughter Christina Gilbert Betts, his son-in-law, Devon Betts and his son, Nick Van Gemert. He also survived by his brother, Michael Gilbert and four grandchildren, JC, Alexandria, Jada and Nicole. The family of Mark Gilbert wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Kimberly Kruczek, the many nurses that treated him at the doctors and through the hospice ward at Ingalls Hospital.
