Labb, Nancy J. (nee Cummings), 78, of Park Forest, Ill.; passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kalamazoo, Mich., on April 6, 1936, to Grace (nee McMillan) and Francis Cummings. Nancy earned a bachelors degree in political science from Kalamazoo College; she received a masters degree in public administration from Governors State University. She was active in civic affairs and a champion of the underdog throughout her adult life in Chicago and Park Forest. Nancy is survived by her ex-husband and best friend William; beloved daughters Rebecca, Deborah, Amy (Daniel), and Catherine; and cherished granddaughter Rowan. Visitation Friday, Sept. 12, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Dr., Park Forest. Funeral Saturday, Sept. 13, with 9 a.m. visitation followed by 10 a.m. mass, at St. Irenaeus Church, 78 Cherry St., Park Forest. Interment immediately following at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.
