Nieves E. Mendoza, 102, passed away at Franciscan Olympia Fields Hospital Friday August 13, 2021. She was born August 5, 1919 in Venado, SLP, Mexico; daughter of Juan and Sebastiana Rodriguez. In her younger days, Nieves would enjoy making tamales and selling them. In later years she enjoyed reading the bible, crochet, doing word search but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Nieves is survived by 3 sons; Macario (Dora), Hector (Rosa), Pedro (Karla) and a daughter Angela Gonzales. 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years Porfirio, a brother, Vicente, a sister, Paz Rodriguez, and 2 daughters Lidia Contreras and Claudia Arteaga. Family will receive guests on Friday August 20, 2021 from 3pm to 7pm at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, IL.
