Nora L. Scully-Mckethen, was born on August 14, 1942 to Norbert Scully and Bernadine Lamphear in Evergreen Park, IL. She attended St. Francis High School and Mundelein College where she received her Bachelors degree and later attended Governors State University where she received her Masters Degree. She was a mathematics teacher for many years at her alma mater Governors State University and later went to teach at Forest Trails Academy in Park Forest, IL. She married Jackie Mckethen, in 1989. They settled in Richton Park, IL before moving to Crete, IL in 1997. Nora enjoyed going out to eat, spending quality time with her family and going to the movies in which her favorite movie was the God Father series. Nora leaves behind her wife Jackie Mckethen, Her siblings Nancy (Keith) Schwartz, Norbert Scully, her step-son Jack (Kris) Mckethen and their two children, foster daughter Sheila and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Her parents Norbert and Bernadine Scully, her brother Tom Scully and her precious puppy Princess, preceded her in death. The visitation will be held at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Directors on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. The funeral services will be on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Directors from 9:00am to 11:00am with a burial to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Beecher Manor for their support, niece Charity Ameri and stepson Jack (Kris) Mckethen for all of their love and support during the arrangement process.
