Obi leaves his parents Deacon & Mrs. Silas Nwankpa and Ms. Darlene Bell.
Obi is also survived by his daughter Lynn Nicole Ukachi Nwankpa, his brothers Mr. Ikenna Nwankpa, William Boswell (deceased), and Winfred Bell, his sisters, Ms. Odochi Nwankpa, Ms. Akudo Nwankpa, Ms. Arlene Bell, and a host of uncles, aunts, a nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends both in the United States and Nigeria.
Obinna Udo Nwankpa was a beautiful baby boy born on July 28, 1984 in Chicago to Silas Nwankpa and Darlene Bell. Obi was tenderly raised by both Silas and Ukachi Nwankpa on the south side of Chicago. Deacon & Mrs. Silas Nwankpa dedicated Obis life to God, as he was baptized into the Seventh Adventist Church.
Obi, as many so easily called him, attended Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School and in 1997 went to live in Nigeria where he learned much about his native Igbo culture. His friendships spanned two continents. In 2002 he returned to the United States where he attended his last year of high school at Bowen H.S. Upon graduation he choose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.
Later, Obi attended Kennedy King College where he completed an Automotive Technology program in 2011, after which he decided to relocate to Minnesota. His passion to repair and rebuild automobiles guided him in the direction to further his education at Century College for Auto Body repair. His completion date for the program was to be by the end of this year.
Anyone who met Obi knew he was the life of the party. He loved to dance and make others smile.
The Family immensely thanks kindred and friends both near and far during their time of mourning.
