Patricia Jane Farabaugh (nee Dowling), 97, of Park Forest, passed away on November 7, 2024. Patricia was born in Chicago to Francis P. Dowling and Ellen C. (Kane) Dowling on February 27, 1927. She grew up on the family farm in Tinley Park and was very active in 4-H throughout her young life. She went to a one room school in the Tinley Park area for grade school, Carl Sandburg High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Education from University of Illinois and her Masters Degree in Special Education from Governors State University. She met Francis Farabaugh through a church social club at St. Irenaeus and married Francis on August 7, 1954 at St. Irenaeus Church in Park Forest. She started her teaching career as a 3rd grade teacher in 1951 at Lakewood School in Park Forest. She later taught at Mt. Carmel Catholic School (St. Rocco) in Chicago Heights and retired from St. Emeric Catholic School in Country Club Hills. Her passion in life was quilting. Patricia is preceded in death by Francis A. Farabaugh (husband) and Timothy F. Farabaugh (son). Sister of the late Mary Ellikson and the late Ellie Dowling. She is survived by her daughters Nora Farabaugh, Amy Lentes, Sara (Alonzo) Slagle. Cherished grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 10. Family and friends will gather on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 10:00am for a memorial mass at St Mary Church in Park Forest.
