Ray was born in Chicago to Thomas and Cecile Kapelanski on February 10, 1932. He went to school at Lane Tech in Chicago. He married Gail Lincicome on July 22, 1967 in Urbana, IL. He worked as a Regional Manager for American Greetings for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air Force. He was very proud to serve his country. Ray loved photography and could do most anything on a computer. He also loved dogs and it broke his heart every time he had to say goodbye to one of his best friends. Ray is preceded in death by his son Mark White Kapelanski and his daughter Stacy Kapelanski Thompson. Ray is survived by his wife Gail, his children Kent Kapelanski, Brett Kapelanski, Mike White, and Kim Kapelanski Britton. Grandchildren Leah Britton, Andrea Britton Testin (Tony), Reid Britton, Reese Britton, Von Britton, Tony Bryant, Taylor Pitts, Thomas Kapelanski, and Kris Kapelanski.
