Jo Rinaldo J Maurizi, 85, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Rena M (nee Giannetti) Maurizi, loving dad of Ronald (Las Vegas, NV) and Jean (Lockport, IL). Dear grandpa of Renee Wayner. The cherished son of the late Emidio and Mary (Vitelli) was born January 20, 1936 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Fond brother of Robert (Helen) and preceded in death by sister Louise Tribo and three brothers John, Louie, and Elio Maurizi. Mr. Maurizi has been a member of St. Lawrence OToole Roman Catholic Church since 1973 and a veteran of the U.S. Army. After working 35 years on the railroad, he retired over 25 years ago from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Rinaldo adored his wife, Rena. Rinaldo and Rena were married almost 48 years before her passing. His hobbies included gardening and sought a daily education of nutrition and acquired a vast knowledge of world history. Rinaldo requested a private ceremony. The funeral was Thursday, September 16 at 12:30pm at Assumption Cemetery, 19500 S. Cottage Grove, Glenwood, Illinois.
