Robert Kennedy, 91, lifelong resident of Park Forest passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at St. Marys Hospital in Kankakee. He was born in Chicago; a son of the late Michael and Johanna (OShea) Kennedy. Bob was a combat veteran in the US Navy during WWII. He owned and operated Stricklers Hardware in Park Forest. His family members include his five sons: Dennis (Barbara), Thomas, John (Patricia), William (Harriet), Timothy (Marcia); six grandchildren: Dennis, Robert, Patrick, Sean, Connor, Jonathan and Emily; and his great-grandchildren: Eva Lynn, Nicole, Denise, Rylee, Caylee and Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Bernice "Becie" nee Doyle; his great-grandson: Zachary Kennedy; four sisters and one brother. The family will greet guests on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00PM with a funeral service beginning at 5:00PM at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home in Park Forest. Burial will be private.
