Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Roxane (Letourneau) Breese, 69, announces her unexpected passing the morning of November 18, 2024 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois. Roxane was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Lorraine (Dexter) Letourneau, her sister Susan (Marksteiner), brother Peter, her children Brian, Anna and Abby, her niece and nephew and other treasured friends and family.Roxane was born January 13, 1955 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Raymond and Lorraine (Dexter) Letourneau, and was the youngest of three children. Roxane graduated Rich Central High School and went on to earn her Associates Degree in Nursing from Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Illinois in 1988. Roxane married her best friend, Daniel Breese, on April 26, 1975 after spending 5 years dating. Once married, they had two daughters and Roxane chose to spend the next 14 years at home raising her girls. When she reentered the workforce, she pursued a career as a Police and Fire Dispatcher for the Village of Matteson, dedicating herself to her role faithfully and with pride for the next 18 years. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time out on the boat fishing with Dan, traveling between their home in Matteson and their dream home in Homosassa, Florida, and overall enjoying the leisurely life she deserved. Roxane also enjoyed cooking, recipe swapping, and sharing coffee, drinks, and meals with friends and family as she celebrated life with much laughter and spunk. She was always happy to see a familiar face and would greet her friends with a hug. Some of her lesser known interests included creating beautiful stained glass window hangings, a skill she appreciated and learned from her parents, and dabbling in crocheting which she learned from her late sister, Sue. She enjoyed catching up with old friends and making new ones anywhere she went. There was a time you wouldn't be surprised to find Roxane with the kids, jumping on trampolines, literally showing her granddaughter how to ride a tricycle, and racing neighborhood kids barefoot in the streets. When physically able, there were very few limits to what she would try or do! Our family draws profound comfort and peace knowing that her heavenly body has no more limits and she is now free and reunited with loved ones in heaven. Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband and very best friend, Daniel, her children Carrie and Kelly (Fenske), her two grandchildren Annabella (Bella) and John (Hawk), many beloved cousins, nieces, nephew, and her ever loyal sidekick, Lucy. At this time, the family wishes to thank Lain-Sullivan for their thoughtful care and guidance and their utmost respect caring for Roxane. Respecting Roxane's wishes, a memorial service has not been planned. However, once plans for a celebration of life are complete, our family will provide details as soon as possible.
