Sally J. Schmehl nee Detweiler, born October 4, 1934, long time resident of Park Forest passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018. Sally was the much beloved wife of Philip S. Schmehl for 55 wonderful years. She is survived by her husband Philip, daughters LeeAnn (Tom) Trexler, Cindy Saunders, Christy Schmehl (Bryan), her son Steven (Melissa) Schmehl, her brother Dale (Verna) Detweiler, her grandchildren Jared (Lori) Trexler, Nathan (MaryClare) Trexler, Carly (Doug) Draeger, Jake (Mackenzie) Saunders, Tyler Schmehl, Jonah and Jacy Stevens, and great-grandchildren Allison and Eli Trexler, Henry Trexler, and Emerie Draeger. Her son Terry Stevens (Lisa Stevens-Harbour) preceded her in death. She will be remembered for her love and compassion for family and friends. Her love of fashion, reading, dancing, movies, yoga, the beach, and sunbathing. Her talent for decorating and always making such a warm and beautiful home and especially, her ability to make friends wherever she went. She truly was forever young in personality and spirit.
