Walter Hampton, Jr., was born to the late Walter Sr. and Helen Hampton on March 21, 1933 in Leighton, Alabama.
Walter accepted religion at an early age.
Walter relocated to Chicago, Illinois as a young adult, as he prepared to raise his devoted family. He had a handsome smooth, intellectual voice and a hearty laugh. He enjoyed his life accomplishing his many goals.
Walter began working at the age of 8 years was an extremely hard worker. Walter worked at Illinois Alloys steel as a Forman for 27 years. As an Entrepreneur, he owned and operated a restaurant for 10 years. LTT Bar-B-Que; named after his first grandchildren: Leah, Tasha, Teuko. Walter also worked for Perfection Hydraulics retiring after 20 years of dedicated service.
On December 26, 1952, Walter united in Holy Matrimony to Azzie Lee, a marriage that lasted 61 years. To this union, three children were born.
On September 18, 2013, in the comfort of St. James Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones, Walter Hampton Jr., crossed over to glory.
Walter leaves to cherish his memories a truly loving wife: Azzie Lee; three children: Vivian Bradley residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Bonita Jackson in Sartell, MN and Cynthia Renee Hampton in San Antonio, TX; one sister: Willie Mae Greer; six grandchildren; Leah, Tasha, Roderick (Teuko), Tari, Bonita, Terry; six great grandchildren: Vivian Renee, Destanie, Angel, Isaiah, Blake, Khloe; a wonderful Godson: Victor Holmes; loyal and supportive longtime friends: Willie and Joyce Hodges along with a host of other relatives and friends.
