William John DeRidder, age 80 a longtime resident of Ely, Minnesota,passed away September 17th, finally at home with his Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the beloved husband of the late Bonnie Lea (Shanz)and loving father of Marguerite King, Lisa Banks, William Jr.(Elizabeth), Christopher and Brian (Rachael). Proud grandfather of Brandon, William Hunter, Dylan, Josh,(late) Brock, Lydia, Alexander, Jackie, Kadince, Marley, Lilliana and Krystiana. Proud great-grand father of Thomas Jennings Hicks, Emerson Rose, Mary Alice, Persephone. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ruth DeRidder and his sister Sharon Goldman, brother Mike DeRidder. William was a retired employee of Allis-Chalmers as a Fork-Truck inspector. William and his late wife Bonnie truly enjoyed life, family and friends. Never to forget Dad's best friend Ben. They loved the great outdoors as dad put it best "God's Country".
