Woodrow T. 'Woody' Petersen, age 97 years, resident of Park Forest, 28-year Navy Pilot,Veteran of WWII and Korean War. Beloved husband of Elsa M. nee Hansen; loving father of Rhoda (Bill) Senkler, Curt (Kate) Petersen and Kent Petersen; cherished grandfather of Philip (Gill) Lee and Mitch Senkler; dearest brother of the late Elmer Nielsen, Mildred Peterson, Irene Schmidt and Blanche Mohning; dear brother-in-law of Ruth Dally; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Woody was a lifelong volunteer in numerous organizations including Ingalls Memorial Hospital, Habitat for Humanity and the Danish Brotherhood in America, which he served as National President. Interment will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. January 5, 2016, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. A Memorial Celebration of Woodys life will be held at a later date.
