Tribute

Charles James Saunders Jr. (also known as Chucky) was born on May 22, 1964 in Chicago, IL to Phyllis Z. Sharp and Charles Saunders, Sr. who both preceded him in death. He attended Canterbury Jr. High and was a proud Panther. He attended Tinley Park High School and later attained his GED because he made a promise to our mother. Charles also attended Robert Morris College where he received a degree in Computer Technology. He studied and studied and when he accomplished his goal-one of his proudest moments.

During his teenage years, he was known for his dancing ability. He was a member of the breakdancing crew that would travel with a beatbox and cardboard, ready to battle anyone that was a foolish enough to challenge them.

He worked security at local dance halls, such as Bermuda's Bob's and Prime and Tender, where he was well respected by both patrons and the owners. He carried this expertise with him as he moved to Florida and Texas, working in club security there.

Chucky was beloved by many, family, friends, coworkers. His  His spirit was so bright, he touched the hearts of anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He always made a lasting impression!

While in Texas, Chucky became ill and moved back to Illinois to be close to family and friends.

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to beat his illness.

On November 7, 2022 Chucky was reunited with our mother as well as his father and nephew.

He leaves behind to honor his memory, his sisters Killeen Sharp, Celestine Saunders, and his brother Carlos Saunders as well as his son James Saunders. There are a host of aunts, cousins, great- cousins, nieces and nephews left to mourn and honor him.

Son, uncle, cousin, brother, friend...these were some of the names that can be used to describe Charles James Saunders, Jr. He was all of this and much more to people he loved and called family.
