Cynthia D Nieves

Age 60, of Chicago Heights, IL passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. Born on June 12, 1962 in Chicago Heights, IL. Adored daughter of Albert H Carter and A. Sue (James) Baxter. Beloved wife of Juan C. Nieves. Loving mother of Stephanie Tainter, Darrold Tainter, Brandy Thorn, Kristen Thorn, Carole Baez, Juan I. (Alissa) Nieves, Juan C. Nieves, Celina (Nicolas) Nieves, and Bianca Nieves. Cherished Grandmother of Jorge Baez Jr., Vikki Baez, Jesus Olivo, Rafael Olivo Jr, and Nicolas Alvarado III. Dear sister of Phillip Carter, Jillian (James) Clausing, Lisa Castaneda, Clay (Pam) Baxter, Sybil Carter and Keetha (Milton) Moore. Devoted aunt to Amanda Hiller, Jimmy and Megan Clausing, Claire (Braden) Paynter and Kathryn Baxter. She was loved by many more in her extended family both here and Mexico. She adored her fur babies Cookie and Toffee.

Proceeded in death by her grandparents Cleo and Irma Smith, Walter Carter, Harold and Donna Carner. Parents Albert H. (Nancy) Carter, A. Sue (James) Baxter. Brother Phillip Carter. Children Brandy Thorn and Juan C. Nieves. And precious fur baby Maxamillian. 

She was a graduate of Rich South High School in 1980 and received her degrees from Roberts Morris University and University of Phoenix. Devoted employee at Aunt Martha’s Contact Center. She loved spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, reading, and Hallmark movies.

Cindy Nieves was kind, generous,  and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Brandy Thorn Memorial Scholastic Book Fund at Lewis E. Rowe Elementary School or the American Cancer Society.
