Eric Lewis

Eric Lewis was born March 23,1967to Willie Oscar Lewis and Aretha Louise Brown. He was the third child out of five children born to his parents. Eric was preceded in death by his beloved farther and his older brother Kenneth Lewis. Although Eric never married, he experienced great love in his life and even though he doesn’t have any biological children Eric was an outstanding and loving father figure to many.

Eric was surrounded by love from his family and friends, he was no stranger to facing harsh adversities in his life as we all know. Just when things in his life appeared to be looking up and taking a turn for the better…Eric was diagnosed with cancer. For many people this would have broken their spirit and made them give up; but not Eric…He did what only “Da General” knew how to do: STAND TALL AND FACED THIS ENEMY HEAD ON WITH HIS HEAD HELD HIGH AND HIS CHIN UP. This battle proved to be long and rigorous, but it never stopped him from smiling brightly, laughing heartily and dropped jewels of knowledge to any and all who spoke with him.

Despite the fact that his spirit was willing…his flesh was weak Eric departed this life on Sunday August 27, 2023.

Eric leaves to cherish his memory: His darling mother, Aretha “Little” Lewis; an older brother, Curtis Lewis; 2 beautiful sisters, Aretha “Missy” Lewis and Ruth “Ray” Lewis-Brown; his play brother Kevin Ware; several nieces and nephews namely: Alicia, Shawn, Sherman, Erica, Marcus, Chiquita, Courtney, Quinton and Deja; as well as great nieces, nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins with a special mention to Marcia from Eric: Thanks for always being there for me through it all. Eric also wanted to give a heartfelt thanks to May who was by his side loving him for 12 years through sickness and health. 

Each and every one of us had the pleasure of knowing Eric Lewis can undeniably say that not only did he leave an impression on our lives but also a deep imprint in our hearts.
