Floyd James Jackson (aka Folkie, Sleepy) passed away from complications with cancer.
Floyd was 50 years old when he left us on June 9th at 7:35 pm at his home in Berwyn, Illinois.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, in Cook County, on November 11, 1972, to William and Clousteen Jackson.
Floyd was a beloved brother to William, James, Nema, and Marta.
Floyd never married and never had any children.
He was a graduate of Ella Flag Young Elementary, Austin Academy H.S., and he attended Wilbur Wright College early in his life.
Unfortunately, Floyd was struck with a rare cancer at the age of 18 that would plague him his entire life. Despite these challenges, Floyd continued to live life to the fullest.
Floyd had many interests and passions. In particular, he loved sports and music. At a young age, he produced music and built a reputation in the Chicago area, where he produced performances with other musicians and family members.
Despite his medical condition, Floyd continued with an entrepreneurial spirit. Being one of the first to endeavor into the ridesharing business with Uber.
He would continue that spirit with the invention and patenting of the DAL system. A product that assists those with amputation by improving the comfort of wearing a prosthetic.
He was loving, smart, and spiritual and will be missed deeply.
Floyd is survived by his parents, William and Clousteen Jackson,
His siblings were William Jackson, James Jackson, Nema Jackson, and Marta Jackson. His nephews and nieces William Jackson, Kiana Jackson, LaKeith LaMothe, Malik LaMothe, Semaj Jackson, James Jackson, and Mia Jackson-Pena.
His Sister in Laws Raushanah Jackson and Lisa Jackson, his aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
And the many friends and acquaintances that he met and impacted his life
