John K Amstadter

John Kallen Amstadter, 70, husband of Arleen nee Adams Amstadter, of Flossmoor, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Prairie Manor Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Chicago Heights.

A native of Flossmoor, Mr. Amstadter was the son of Erma nee Kallen Amstadter of Flossmoor and the late Laurence Amstadter. He owned and operated JAMM Distributing, working as a manufacturers sales representative serving the music industry, for more than 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Amstadter is survived by his sons: Noah Amstadter of Schererville, IN (Jennifer Stojanovich); Eli Amstadter of Chicago (Marissa); and Jacob Amstadter of Flossmoor; his brother Marc Amstadter of Chicago; and one grandson: Jonah Henry Amstadter.

Music was his true passion. He enjoyed working with musicians and visiting blues clubs, even singing on occasion.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 23 at Temple Anshe Sholom 20820 Western Ave. Olympia Fields, IL

The family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
