LeRoy Clyde McConathy

December 17, 1957 ~ April 11, 2022 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Tribute

It is with much sadness and heaviness in our hearts to announce that our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Leroy (Lee) Clyde McConathy, passed away on the evening of April 11, 2022.  He was surrounded by loved ones, at Riverside Medical Center, in Kankakee, IL. He was born on Dec. 17, 1957, and was 64 years old.

Lee is survived by his sisters - Shirley McConathy, Jennifer Zandi, Deborah Gantner, Jody Florez, His nephews - Shaf, Romon, His nieces - Tia, Kelle, Nicole, Jessica, Sarah, Alicia,  25 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great, great nieces and nephews, His life long friend, Donna Baily, and many other friends and loved ones.  His nephew, Matthew, preceeded him to Heaven, along with his mother, Peggy Zych, and his father, Leroy McConathy.

Lee was retired and enjoyed living in Manteno, Il.  In his working years, and for more than 20 years, he was a healthcare specialist. One of his favorite jobs was at Happy Days/Southstar, Chicago Heights, IL, where he cared for the developmentally and intellectually disabled.  He loved this job, and his clients loved him.  He had a special gift for this type of work.

Lee was an avid music listener, and loved all genres of music.  He loved James Taylor, and the old classics.  We called him "The Music Man", and he loved sharing his love of music with everyone.  That will be truly missed.  He also dabbled in art, and was quite talented.  He also was a true animal lover.

Anyone who met Lee, loved him.  He was the most loving, kind, sweet, honorable, and caring brother, uncle, and friend that you would ever want to meet.  He had a way of making everyone feel loved and special.  He was always there with a helping hand.  He never worried about himself, but worried about everyone else.  We will miss his beautiful kind piercing blue eyes, and the way he looked at us with such adoration and love.  And we will miss his laugh. He was so funny, and he loved to laugh.

Again, it is with much sadness and sorrow in our hearts that we have to say goodbye, until we meet again.  We are Jealous of the Angels around the throne tonight.  We are sure you have the biggest wings of them all.  WE WILL MISS YOU "LEE" FOREVER AND EVER AND ALWAYS. ♥️
