Mary Frances AuBuchon, 99, peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving children and long-term caregiver.

Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania on June 23, 1922, to the late Francis and Mary Ellen (Hogan) Cummiskey. She was educated in Bradford at the Fourth Ward grade school and St Bernard High School, continuing her education at the Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, New York, graduating as a registered nurse. As World War II raged on, she enlisted in the U.S. Army, went through basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey, and was deployed overseas for 17 months. While serving in the China Burma India (CBI) theater of war as the head nurse of communicable diseases, she met her future husband.

In 1948 she was united in marriage to William B. AuBuchon at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bradford, Pennsylvania. She continued her nursing career until starting a family, living in Louisville, Kentucky. Her husband was called back into the service during the Korean War, moving them to Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After the war they moved to Park Forest, Illinois.

While raising their family, Mary volunteered in wide variety of organizations, including: Marian Catholic High School, St. James Auxiliary, Respond Now and South Suburban Hospice. Being involved in these organizations provided not only the opportunity to serve the local community, but to make many life-long friendships. Throughout her life, Mary cherished her time with family and friends.

Survivors include three children, Mimi (Pat) Triplett of Davenport, Iowa, Bill (Judy) AuBuchon of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Patricia Geniesse of Aurora, Illinois; twelve grandchildren, Matt (Andrea), Mike (Sarah), Brad (Kimberly), Timothy (Amanda), Jennifer (John), Emily (Aaron), Brian, Sarah (James), Jessica, Caleb (Kristina) Amy, and Maddie, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother William Cummiskey, a sister Ann Cummiskey.
