Richard Matthew Kiser

Richard Matthew Kiser, known by most as Rich, passed away on January 4th, 2023, after a 2-year battle with cancer. Rich was born on February 5th, 1968. He was only 54 years old at the time of his passing.

Rich is survived and missed by his loving wife Sharon of 30 years; and his children, Robert (Danielle), Hunter (Kat), and Richard (Brittney). He also leaves behind his brother Douglas, Aunt Susan (Lawrence), Uncle Dick (Janet), Aunt Becky, and is forever cherished by all his cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rich was predeceased by his father Bob, and his mother Linda.

He was born in Chicago Heights, IL and grew up in Park Forest, IL. At 19 he met his wife, Sharon, and years later they moved to their first apartment in Matteson, IL. In 1994 they welcomed their first boy Robert Charles, to be followed years later by two more boys, Hunter Matthew and Richard Joseph. Being a father to his three boys was one of Rich’s biggest joys in his life.

Rich was an avid outdoorsman and Chicago sports fan. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s various sports teams including youth baseball and high school fishing team. Rich was also very involved in golf, just like his father Bob. He passed the game down to his sons, all of which continue loving the game to this day.

Rich was employed at TriAlco for 32 years where he held various positions, finishing his career as a shift supervisor. Rich met many lifelong friends through work, even training two of his sons during their employment at the same company.

Rich was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and vast knowledge of random information making him a juggernaut at jeopardy and trivial pursuit. 

His legacy will carry on, forever reminding us to laugh often, love deeply, and never take life for granted. There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are for all the support and love we have received from everyone.

Memorial services will take place on Tuesday January 10th, 2023 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The services will be held at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home located at 50 Westwood Drive Park Forest, Illinois 60466.
