Richard Alan Youngberg was born April 7, 1945 to Edward and Eleanor Youngberg.

They lived in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago.  The family moved to Hazel Crest, IL. in 1956.  He attended Bremen High School where he was on the swimming team.  He attended Bradley University graduating with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.  He then worked for Motorola designing car radios for about twenty years.

Richard was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and went on permanent disability.  He had a house built in Matteson, IL. with his handicap in mind.  His mother lived with him until her death as she also had multiple sclerosis.  Eventually he had to move to a nursing home.  He enjoyed watching TV and keeping in touch with family and friends by telephone.  In January 2022 he entered the hospital with very low blood pressure and an infection.  He peacefully died on February 2, 2022.
